About Me/Contact

I am currently a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany (next to Munich) working with Torsten Enßlin to study cosmic magnetism and develop novel imaging algorithms for use in radio astronomy. I received my PhD from Brandeis University in 2010. There I worked with David Roberts and John Wardle studying the radio jets of the microquasar SS 433.  I obtained my BS in Physics from the University of Maine at Orono in 2004.

I live in Munich with my wife Amanda and our adorable dog Aja.  We are having fun exploring Europe and (slowly) learning German.

I grew up around Portland, Maine where I enjoy visiting at every opportunity to spend time with my family and eat lobster.

I am a passionate Boston Red Sox fan. I am a lover of beer (both drinking and brewing).  I like to keep active.  I enjoy cycling, playing ultimate frisbee, hiking, and rock climbing.  I love to golf, but rarely have the time or money.  I have many other hobbies, none serious.

You can find out more details about my various areas of research on my research page.
